Deonta Vaughn scored 20 of his 29 points in the first half Wednesday night, and Cincinnati’s balanced attack helped it hold on for a 74-66 victory that ended Syracuse’s six-game winning streak.
Vaughn scored in double figures for the sixth straight game, leading Cincinnati (7-8, 2-1 Big East) to its third victory in its last four games. Marvin Gentry added 12 points, and John Williamson scored 10.
Syracuse (12-4, 2-1) couldn’t take advantage of a defense that has been highly inconsistent.
