Leonard Mendez scored 19 points, including a key free throw with 11.7 seconds left, as Georgia State edged Delaware 54-53 in a Colonial Athletic Association game Saturday.
Mendez hit the second of two foul shots with 11.7 seconds remaining to give the Panthers (2-7 CAA, 5-14 overall) a 54-50 lead. Brian Johnson hit a three-pointer at the final buzzer for Delaware to cut the margin to one.
