Nate Rohnert scored a season-high 16 points and Denver held off a fierce rally to beat Morgan State 54-44 in the consolation game of the Cable Car Classic on Saturday night.
Adam Tanner and David Kummer each added 10 points as the Pioneers (5-7) won their second straight after losing three of their previous four.
Jamar Smith scored 18 points to lead the Bears (6-6), who lost their second straight.
