This is the day the Fighting Illini basketball team demonstrated its ability to return to national prominence as four outstanding athletes signed national letters of intent to play at Illinois. Coach Weber was understandably thrilled with his haul.

All the waiting is over, and so is the speculation. D. J. Richardson may have moved from Peoria to Las Vegas for his senior season, but he has remained loyal to Illinois. And on Wednesday, he proved it by signing his National Letter of Intent to play for the Fighting Illini basketball team.
